1. The Procedure of Studies of foreign students of the ERASMUS program regulates the studying at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences of the foreign students who come to study under the Erasmus program in the framework of a contract between the partner universities.
2. Implementation of the ERASMUS program at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences is coordinated by the structural unit of foreign relations.
3. A foreign student shall study at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences on the basis of an individual curriculum, which is prepared on the basis of the optional subjects in the curriculum of the Academy and on extra-curricular subjects. The list of subjects is approved before each semester by the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs.
4. The instruction is provided in English.
5. All the subjects taught in the framework of the ERASMUS program apply the principles of the Rules of Study Organization Chapter 1.4 in drawing up subject program and the calendar plan.
6. The study conditions and the period of studies of ERASMUS foreign students is defined as follows:
6.1. The visiting foreign student shall send herself/himself or through his or her relevant unit an appropriate application with the annexes to the specialist of international relations of the Academy for pre-registration no later than 31 October;
6.2. The specialist of international relations confirms the individual curriculum of the student, collects the admission documents of the visiting foreign student and sends the student the decision regarding the admission no later than 30 November;
6.3 The study period of the student at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences and the individual curriculum of the student is approved by the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs no later than one month before the beginning of the study period;
6.4. The specialist of international relations shall monitor the participation of ERASMUS foreign students in participation in the learning process and advise the students on forth coming problems;
6.5. At the end of the studies of the foreign student, the specialist of international relations shall issue or send to the home university of the student and to the student within one month, an Academic Transcript of Records in English regarding the time and the results of the studies of the foreign student which is approved by the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs.
7. The organization of studies of ERASMUS foreign students is defined as follows:
7.1. The foreign students are required to engage in study activities. For a good reason, and with the consent of the specialist of international relations, the student has the right to be temporarily absent from the studies;
7.2. The ERASMUS foreign students has the right to participate in the study process in the subject as specified with the application of the student on equal terms with the students of the Academy, and the right to use the library of the Academy and upon availability, apply for housing in the dormitory;
7.3. Classroom instruction of ERASMUS foreign students is carried out in a group where there are at least 6 registered participants. When in the study group 3-5 students participate, classroom instruction will take place partially, but not less than 3 hours of classroom instruction for 1 EAP, in addition, individual instructions. In case of less than 3 participants, the subject is passed on individual supervision of the lecturer, while the student shall receive consultations in the capacity of at least 4 academic hours of per 1 EAP.
7.4. The study process of the ERASMUS program can take part, instead of classroom studies, in the form of blended e-learning, but per each of the EAP classroom teaching must be at least 2 hours in total.
7.5. The specialist of international relations in cooperation with the Department of Academic Affairs keeps records of the foreign students and their academic performance in the study information system.
