Sports Centre

Sport has always had an important place at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences.

A number of our students and alumni have won medals at Olympic Games, world championships, student world championships, universiades and SELL student games.

For example, in 2018, Andra Aho, a student at the College of Justice, won a gold medal at the Muay Thai World University Championships.

The Academy also takes actively part in Estonian student, police and prison service’s sports competitions, and organises several sporting events and regular trainings. Every year our Erasmus exchange students have taken sports-related elective subjects and participated in competitions.

In 2018, the Academy and the Estonian Internal Security Police organised the VI Sports Games of the National Structures of Power. The Academy has also organised competitions with the border guard schools in the Baltics and other partners as well.

There is a sports stipend for the most successful sportsmen, and the Academy covers the expenses related to representing it at different sports competitions.

The Academy’s Sports Club (Sisekaitseakadeemia Spordiklubi) is a member of the Estonian Police Sport Association and of several sports federations.

Research areas: police sport, physical activity, physical capabilities.
